Richmond & Towers has been appointed to handle the trade and consumer PR briefs for Westons Cider in the UK.
Effective from 1st April 2018, the brief comes during a dynamic time for the fast-growing premium, craft and fruit cider segments in the UK, which Westons Cider is well-positioned to benefit from through its comprehensive portfolio. The Clerkenwell-based agency will be charged with driving fame for brands including Henry Westons, Stowford Press and Mortimer’s Orchard.
The account will be handled by Richmond & Towers’ Food & Drink Team and overseen by Food & Drink Director, Simon Mowbray.
Mowbray comments: “We are delighted to be working with Westons Cider at such an exciting time, as the cider category continues to redefine itself through new, innovative and craft offerings and the Westons Cider business gears up to capitalise on another year of strong growth.
“Having had a specialist drinks offering at R&T for most of our 87 years, the drinks world is in our DNA and we look forward to helping to drive sales of Herefordshire’s finest cider in the coming months and years.”
Geoff Bradman, Commercial Director at Westons Cider, added: “During the course of the next 5 years our objective is to grow the Westons Cider business by +40%. Our agencies will be key to supporting us in this objective as we seek to continue to drive strong levels of consumer and trade engagement.
“The team at R&T really impressed us with a deep understanding of our business and brands, their multi-discipline approach and team chemistry, and we are looking forward to working with them to strengthen our position as a leading premium quality cider maker.”
