Playing the PR Field14th June, 2017 by Pippa Chester
Choosing a PR agency is a bit like dating – you have to play the field before you find the right one for you.
There are the big shots who you desperately try to impress (the cool type of desperately though, obviously). And what about the slightly hipster one who encapsulates the meaning of ‘alternative’ – complete with table football, a drinks trolley and bean bags.
But there’s only ever one that you wouldn’t be afraid to bring home to your parents. For me, that’s Richmond & Towers.
Don’t get me wrong, in my relatively short career so far, I’ve flirted with the big shots. They had the PR sex appeal. But as soon as I realised we didn’t have a long-term future together, it was time to look elsewhere – I’m not getting any younger, after all.
That’s when I swiped right to Richmond & Towers. It’s clever, creative and has food and drink at its heart. Their little black book is bursting with cool kids who write about courgetti. These qualities alone were enough to tempt me, but I’d learned from past experience not to jump straight in. So what happened when I dug a little deeper?
Checking out previous relationships is a good place to start, and Richmond & Towers did not disappoint. They have a strong track record in developing long term relationships with clients. What’s more, they’ve been playing the PR field since the 1930s, so must be doing something right. Whether that’s consumer marketing, corporate or B2B communications, content creation or digital marketing, their results speak for themselves. Not with too much swagger though – my parents wouldn’t like that.
We may only be into the first month of our relationship, but I can already tell Richmond & Towers is a keeper.
